Samuel Fausold, Sr. in Scottdale

Samuel Fausold retired to Scottdale, Pa., with weak heart (coronary thrombosis). He could relax and attend to his family. In great family visits he talked widely (family, culture, politics) and when alone read profusely.

Very fine view of Chestnut Street in Scottdale as seen from the porch at 704, a place where we often lolled – actually off and on for decades, 1920s to 1950s. It was a beautiful shady small town street.
