Welty/Fausold Reunion, 1966

Although far more Weltys were at this reunion than Fausolds, the latter seem to have the more central location. Of course, there were many more Weltys inasmuch as Aunt Mary Fausold Welty had thirteen children. Prominent Fausolds were seemingly the main row beginning with folded hands: Edna Jane Fausold, Charles D. Fausold, William M. Fausold, Priscilla Fausold Weir, George M. B. (Mac) Fausold, Betty Fausold, Margaret Ann Fausold, Sam Fausold, Jr. This was the last time Weltys and Fausolds reunioned until the Great Fausold Reunion, in Pen Yan New York in 1985

Great Fausold Fausold Reunion, Keuka College, 1985

In 1985, Keulka College, Pen Yan, N. Y. marked the first tune that descendents of the Mary, Martin Luther and Harry Fausood descedents met in reunion since 1885. Numerous conservations were videotaped and are on file at IUP.

Martin and Mac were organizers and proponents of family gatherings – Mac for family reasons, Martin for historic reasons. Martin L. Fausold (2^nd) was presented a plaque to celebrate his tenure as Distinguished Service Professor, State Universty of New York.

Sally Jo Fausold Jones and Martin L. Fausold (2^nd.)

Poignant image of Sally Jo and Martin, 1985. Although infrequent visitors in the 1930s when she visited her sister, Helen, a freshman at the Indiana State Teachers College both Martin and Sally Jo were attracted to each other. They then separated for half of a century and were glad to be reunited in 1985. They met several times thereafter. Saly Jo was the granddaughter of Harry Fausold; and Martin was the grandson of Martin L. Fausold (1^st.) They were second cousins. Sally died on a cruise in 1998.

Fall, 1995

Martin L. Fausold (2^nd), on behalf of the Fausold family, presented to the Indiana University of Pennsylvania portraits of the Honorable John Fausold former Member, Gen’l Assembly, Pennsylvania, and Dr. Samuel Fausold, Sr.,former President, Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

Center is Dr. Martin L Fausold, Distinguished Service Professor of Service, SUNY Geneseo, N. Y. He is here with Dr. Larry Kroah, right, a principal force behind the organization of the Fausold Family Papers, and, left, President Lawrence Pettit of IUP.

Here, Martin delivered a brief address reporting that partisan politics in public education in "my fathers day" was fierce and had not been studied. President Pettit said he would get a handle on that scholarship at the Indiana University of Pennsylvaia. There was, in fact, a state wide conference about two years later about the matter.

Philip Zorich expertly organized the unveiling conferene. It was a tour de force.

Representatives of three generations

First was Sally Jo Fausold Jones who was first contacted about getting together after aome fifty years. She did so. Also, came Paul Welty, the genealogist of the Aunt Mary wing of the family.

All three of us carried on long video type conversations to be stored in the Fausold Collection of the Indiana University of Pennsylvnaia.

The Harry Fausold Wing of the Family at the IUP Unveiling

This is the most complete family standing in front of the portraits just unveiled. They are, left to right: Robert Conley, Helen Conley, Edward Jones, Charles (chuck) Fausold, Betty Fausold, Mrs. Biff Jones, Daughter of Dr. Biff Jones. Dr. Jones served as one of Jimmy Carter's While House physicians.

Marti Fausold Mowers - And Samuel Fausold 50 Years Earlier

Granddaughter of former president, Indiana State Teachers, playing guitar and singing her song One Fine Man, about grandfather Sam, in exactly same spot where Dr. Fausold read in evenings when son Martin was not setting a card table to do his home work here.

This is an important and poignent, given the recent celebration and the same spot here some 50 years age where the Fausolds, Samuel, Sr. and Martin read.

Great Fausold Reunion, IUP 1998

Great Fausold Reunion, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, 1998. This was the last reunion of various branches of the extended family, on steps of John Sutton Hall, home of President Samuel Fausold’s apartment where his family lived in the 1930s. This reunion for the first had attending descendants okf the "lost" Martha Fausold Fry wing. Martha was the second daughter of John Fausold.
