Collection of Letters of Civil War Soldiers

The Civil War Soldiers Collection contains photocopies of varied letters, diaries, memoirs and service records of Pennsylvania Civil War soldiers who served in different regiments of the Pennsylvania Volunteers. The collection also contains a group of letters from an officer who served as an infantryman in Ohio. The bulk of the collection was written during the War itself, although some of the correspondence and diaries date from before this time and continued after the War was over.
