Gabriel Alexander Collection

On January 12, 1989, Gabriel Alexander, arbitrator for Armco Steel Corporation and United Steel Workers of America, donated over four hundred arbitration cases and material from Armco plants nationwide. Alexander was formerly Chairman of General Motors and Chrysler's Board of Arbitration (1948-54), as well as the arbitrator for Jones and Lagughlin Steel. He also served as permanent arbitrator for Bethlehem Steel, American Airlines, International Harvester and John Deere.

The bulk of the material includes briefs, grievance reports, transcripts of court proceedings and arbitration decisions, IRRA proceedings and various Armco agreements. The material covers the years between 1974 and 1988.
