Records of the Central Pennsylvania Coal Producers
Association
The Central PA Coal Producers Association was created on April 11, 1918
during a joint meeting of the Association of Bituminous Coal Operators of Central PA and
the Low Volatile Operator's Association. This new Association was organized to facilitate
the full cooperation of the PA coal industry in the War effort. In the wake of government
regulations on the distribution of coal production, the Coal Producers Association
attempted to enlist the cooperation of all of the coal companies in the state to join this
Association to insure these regulations remained equitable for the state of Pennsylvania.
This collection includes xerox copies of the Association minutes, dating from 1922 to
1954.
