Collection of the American Association of University Professors

Founded in 1915, the American Association of University Professors' purpose was to facilitate cooperation among teachers and research scholars in universitites, colleges and professional schools for the promotion of higher education and research. Through various means, the AAUP worked to increase the usefulness and advance the standards, ideas, and welfare of the teaching profession. The IUP chapter of the AAUP, which is now defunct, was established during the early 1960's and worked to enhance the careers of IUP professors. This collection, which dates from 1963-1974, contains letters, bulletins, meeting minutes and miscellaneous reports about IUP.
