Papers of Robert Wilson
This collection was donated to Special Collections by a former Biology
professor, Dr. Dwight Sollberger. Robert Wilson was a distant relative of Sollberger and
Wilson's papers had been in the family for several generations before being placed at IUP.
Robert Wilson was an early settler of Allegheny County who emigrated from Ireland. He
owned a large tract of land in Indiana Township, near Pittsburgh, PA.
These papers contain the personal correspondence of Robert Wilson, dating from 1816 to
1842, as well as other documents relating to his land holdings and allegiance to King
George.
