The Collection of the American Association of University Women

This national organization, whose headquarters are located in Washington, D.D., was founded in 1881. The AAUW strives for the advancement of women through advocacy and emphasis on lifelong learning. Some of the AAUW's activities inlcude the sponsoring of competitions and awards, and Congressional lobbying. The Association maintains a library and archives at its office in Washinton.

The Indiana Chapter of the AAUW was established in 1936 and sponsors many Women's Advocacy programs for its local audience. The collection consists of two scrapbooks which document the Chapter's activities from 1968 through 1973. They include newsletters, by-laws, pamphlets and newspaper clippings.
