Matthew J. Walsh Papers

Matthew Walsh was born on March 3, 1872 in Grand Rapids, MI. Early in his career, he taught Latin to high school students. Walsh's career at Indiana Normal School began in 1920 as Head of the Department of Education. From 1927 through 1942, he served as the Dean of Instruction, with a brief stint as Acting President in 1936. The Science Building, Matthew J. Walsh Hall, which was dedicated in 1958, commemorates Walsh's tenure with the College.

The Matthew J. Walsh Papers include Walsh's personal papers, photographs and newsclippings.
