Elbert Hubbard Papers

Elbert Hubbard was a noted author, lecturer and publisher. He was born June 19, 1859 in Bloomington, Ill. He died aboard the Lusitania in 1915. Hubbard received a common school education, and an Honorary M.A. degree from Tufts College. Hubbard was the editor of the Philistine newspaper, and owned the Roycroft Shop, which was devoted to making deluxe copies of the classics.

The Hubbard Collection contains six boxes of material, including copies of the Philistine from 1902-1915, and Hubbard's twelve volume set, Little Journeys to the Homes of the Great.
