Lois Lenski Collection
A noted author and artist of children's books, Lois Lenski received
numerous literary awards for her work, including the John Newberry Medal for Strawberry
Girl in 1946. Lenski was born in 1893 in Spingfield, OH. She received a B.S. in Education
from Ohio State University in 1915, and attended the Westminister School of Art in London,
England. Besides illustrating all of her own works, she also illustrated 57 children's
books by other authors.
This collection contains articles written by as well as about Lenski, newspaper clippings,
book jackets, correspondence, and a photo album.
