Jospeh Michael Uhler Papers

Joseph M. Uhler was reared in Elizabeth, PA. His education includes a Normal School Certificate from Shippensburg, and an AB, AM and Doctor of Education from the University of Pittsburgh. Uhler served as the Supervising Principal at Cresson, PA from 1907-1908. He became Principal and later the Superintendent of Schools at Conemaugh High School.

Uhler joined the Education Department at Indiana State Teachers College in 1925. During his tenure he served as Director of Student Teaching and Placement, Dean of Instruction, and was President of the College from 1942-47.

His papers include his Master's Thesis, some miscellaneous correspondence, several of his speeches, photographs and other miscellaneous items.
