Library Office: 103-D Stabley Library (724) 357-5697 Email: cclouser@iup.edu The science collection at IUP contains more than 40,000 volumes, 2,200 journals, and more than 500 movies and video recordings covering all of the scientific disciplines. The collection is being continually updated through collaboration between the science faculty and the library, and efforts are being undertaken to make sure the science collection is modern, relevant, and up to date with the latest research from around the world. The Library Liaison Program brings teaching faculty and librarians together to select books and other materials for each of the academic disciplines. Generally, each educational department or area designates a "liaison" faculty member to work with the corresponding librarian (the "subject bibliographer") to choose books for purchase and addition to the collection. I am the subject bibliographer for the following disciplines: Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Geoscience, Mathematics, and Physics. The Liaison faculty members for these departments are: Biology: Dr. Sandy Newell (sjnewell@iup.edu) Biochemistry: Dr. Jon Southard (southard@iup.edu) Chemistry: Dr. Mike Briggs (Mike.Briggs@iup.edu) Geoscience: Dr. Kenneth Coles (Kenneth.Coles@iup.edu) Mathematics: Dr. Phil Ray (bmagics@iup.edu) Physics: Dr. Greg Kenning (ccpm@iup.edu) IUP College of Natural Science & Mathematics: the homepage of the NSM. Science Portal @ IUP: a "one-stop" site collecting links to numerous science resources, news articles, and updates from the library that are useful to science faculty and students. |
