The cataloging department prepares online computer records for all books, media, microforms, and selected websites in the main Stapleton and Stabley Library Collections.  Here also is where books, media, and microform receive physical preparation for the library shelves.  The department also performs many other cataloging activities in the University Libraries system including database maintenance.  We coordinated much of the planning for the reclassification from Dewey to Library of Congress Classification scheme in 2001, and began authority control work the same year. 

Database services are provided under contract with Endeavor Information Systems.
