The Library is intended for the use of all members of the IUP community.  While we are pleased to permit visitors the use of our various library materials and resources within the library building, you must apply for borrowing privileges by way of a Library Card.  Our mission here at the Regional Campus is to provide research support to the students and faculty of the First-Year Program and build on the information literacy skills of the first-year student for life long learning.   IUP Library ID cards for members of the IUP community or Library Special Borrower cards for visitors can be obtained at the Main Campus.

Securing a Library Card

Library Special Borrowers:  Non-IUP individuals may purchase a library card at the I-Card Office in the Hadley Union Building (the "HUB") located on Pratt Drive. The charge for the card is $5.00. Hours may vary from one semester to another.  However, you may call (724) 463-1204 for an update on the current hours and days of operation.

  1. Library users should first search PILOT, our online catalog, to determine if materials are owned locally.
  2. For books not owed by IUP Libraries, search PALCI E-ZBorrow.  Most requests submitted through PALCI, E-ZBorrow are received within a week. Feel free to check with a member of staff to see if your material(s) have arrived.
  3. For journal articles, check IUP Libraries Electronic Journals Search.  Many articles can be located online.
  4. Materials not available through PILOT,  PALCI, E-ZBorrow,  electronically in full-text through  IUP Libraries Electronic Journals Search,  can be requested through ILLIAD which allows users to request items, track requests, and renew loaned items at the click of a button without the travel and inconveniences of travel to the Main Campus.
  5. Books housed in our Punxsutawney Regional Campus Library can also be shipped to the Main Campus Library - Circulation Desk (for your use upon request).  Please exercise your privileges to borrow materials housed elsewhere and have them shipped to you. All of our requests are handled promptly and can be at your fingertips within two business days, if/when the book is available.  We ship and receive book loans daily for your added convenience.
  6. The book/material you are requesting does not have to be required reading for any specific class and can be borrowed for your reading pleasure.  Enjoy the benefits of reading: College isn't just about being in the classroom - it's about living life, being in a community, and learning more about yourself and the world around you.
